Piano Tutoring
Piano tutoring is available at additional cost. These services are available to any student enrolled in the S.M. Studios, but they are also available to students of other teachers.
Tutoring can be an extremely useful investment. It allows for students to have more time with an experienced teacher without having the pressure of being in an actual lesson. The goal of the tutor is to help students practice while following only the lesson plan that the teacher has laid out. It allows students to become comfortable with the person helping, which better encourages them to relax while playing. A relaxed musician makes music.
Tutoring can be for an extended period of time or it can be short-term, one to two months. Both time frames allow for students to learn practice techniques that can be taken and used in every piece of music they decide to learn.
Parents should consult the regular music teacher before enrolling; extra tutoring may be considered a conflict of interest.
The minimum for this service is two hours a month, broken up into 30 minute sessions (one session a week).
